Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Funds Collaborative Research from Berkeley, UCSF, Stanford

MCB is delighted to join faculty from UCSF, Stanford, and other UC Berkeley departments in cutting-edge biomedical research funded by the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Intercampus Research Awards! The Biohub will provide $13.7 million toward several collaborative research projects in labs around the Bay Area.

The Chan Zuckerberg Biohub is a nonprofit organization and philanthropic investment of the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. The Biohub fosters breakthroughs in biomedical research by bringing together the brightest minds from a variety of fields, and will fund MCB faculty researchers in the following projects:

Steven E. Brenner, Professor (Affiliated) of Genetics, Genomics and Development  |  Machine learning for interpreting rare genetic variation in comprehensive newborn screening and pharmacogenetics

Laurent Coscoy, Associate Professor of Immunology and Pathogenesis  |  Defining host responses of virus- infected and uninfected neighbor cells

Daniel Rokhsar, Professor of Genetics, Genomics and Development  |  Beyond model systems: insights into genome evolution and cellular innovations

David Schaffer, Professor of Neurobiology  |  Social network analysis of neuroimmune interactions in the developing human brain
